Church Administration Lay Studies Course
The Rev. Steve Reynolds will teach the "Church Administration" Lay Studies Course at the First Baptist Church of Waverly (23 Tioga Street) in the fall of 2018. The course will be taught on Monday evenings from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM, September 10 - November 12th. The Rev. Reynolds has pastored churches in Vermont, Pennsylvania, and New York State. In addition, he has set up his own church consulting business, based in Appalachin, NY. He serves on the Regional Lay Studies Team and on the Regional Enhancement Team for the American Baptist Churches of New York State. He has a degree in history from the University of Massachusetts and an M.Div. degree from the Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary. He has wide experience in leading churches and in teaching Lay Studies courses.
CostThe cost is $100 for credit in the ABCNYS Lay Studies program; $110 for students who want to take the course online; and $50 for students who want to audit the course. You can make checks payable to the "Living Waters Association" and pay the course fee on the first evening of the course. Students who take the course for "credit" can expect to complete several written assignments; students who audit the course can participate at their own pace.

TextbooksThere are two textbooks for this course. The first is Church Administration Handbook, 3rd ed., by Bruce Powers. The second is Church Administration and Finance Manual, by Otto Crumroy, Stan Kukawka, and Frank Whitman. Students are expected to purchase texts for themselves and bring them to class. Students may use either the physical books or an electronic edition.
